KSCA Installs State-Of The Art Led Floodlighting System At Chinnaswamy Stadium To Conserve Energy, Superior Quality Broadcasting
LED Sports Lighting Solution with Intelligent DMX Lighting Control Technology replaced metal-halide floodlights at the stadium which were in operation since 2010.

BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Cricket Association, operators’ of M. Chinnaswamy stadium, in Bengaluru switch to latest LED Sports Floodlighting Technology to conserve energy by about 40 percent than the conventional lighting system. LED Sports Lighting Solution with Intelligent DMX Lighting Control Technology replaced metal-halide floodlights at the stadium which were in operation since 2010.
Over its step to upgrade to latest Sports Floodlighting Technology is part of KSCA’s continued efforts “to modernise cricket infrastructure and provide world-class facilities for the players, spectators and the broadcasters.”
Vinay Mruthyunjaya, spokesperson of KSCA, stated “The intelligent DMX control system also enables instant switching and dynamic lighting effects before, during and after matches, creating an enhanced math-day atmosphere and provides spectators with truly world-class stadium experience.”
He explained “Modern cricket broadcasting in High Definition (HD), Ultra HD (4K) and super slow-motion requires lighting performance of superior quality. With cricket balls travelling at speeds exceeding 150 kmph, broad cast cameras demand high vertical illumination, flicker-free lighting and excellent color rendering.”
“The new lighting system provides more than 3,500 lux over the pitch and over 2,500 lux across the outfield, ensuring exceptional light uniformity and visibility for players, match officials’, spectators’ and television audiences,” Vinay said.
The project as executed by Havells India Limited, one of India’s leading electrical equipment manufacturers, using its advanced LED Sports Lighting Solution with intelligent MX Lighting Control Technology and KSCA executed the LED floodlighting project at a cost of Rs 5 crore under president of KSCA Venkatesh Prasad with an objective of further strengthening Karnataka’s position as one of the India’s premier cricketing destinations.
