Bengaluru: Seven Congress leaders from Karnataka, including three MLAs and two MLCs, have written to Mallikarjun Kharge seeking greater representation for Kolar district in the state Cabinet.
In their letter, the leaders urged the party high command to allocate three ministerial berths to representatives from the district. They specifically demanded a Cabinet position for S. N. Narayanaswamy under the Dalit quota.
They also sought ministerial posts for K. Y. Nanjegowda and Kothur G. Manjunath under the General quota.
The move comes amid ongoing discussions within the party over Cabinet formation and regional representation following the leadership transition in Karnataka.
