Kolar Congress Leaders Demand 3 Cabinet Berths for Its 3 MLAs

In demanding 3 Ministerial berths for Kolar, the Congress leaders sent a letter to the general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) K.C. Venugopal stated Bangarapet MLA Narayanaswamy is a prominent leader who won thrice in 2013, 2018 and 2023 and belongs to SC (Right) which has not been represented in the cabinet after T. Channaiah, the founder of Kolar district

BENGALURU: While, exercise is going on the formation of a new Council of Ministers, Congress leaders of Kolar are the first to openly exert pressure on central leaders demanding 3 cabinet berths for the district in the new dispensation to be headed by D.K. Shivakumar, tipped to be the Chief Minister. Currently, Shivakumar is the Deputy Chief Minister and president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.

Kolar Congress leaders demand Ministerial berths for S.N. Narayanaswamy under Scheduled Castes quota while K.Y. Nanjegowda and Kothur G. Manjunath under the general quota. Narayanaswamy reoprsents Bangarapet assembly seat reserved for SC, Nanjegowda represents Malur seat and Manjunath is MLA from Kolar seat. The Congress leaders felt “It is the right time to give proper representation to Kolar in the cabinet.”

In demanding 3 Ministerial berths for Kolar, the Congress leaders sent a letter to the general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) K.C. Channaiah, the founder of Kolar district.

In support of Narayanaswamy, the Congress leaders stated SC (Right) community compromise of more than 12 lakh voters in the district of Kolar, Chikkaballapura and Bengaluru Rural district and considering Narayanaswamy for a ministerial post will help in the uplift of the Congress party and socially depressed class of the society.

Backing Nanjegowda and Manjunath, Kolar Congress leaders stated Nanjegowda and Manjunath strived hard to build the party from the grassroot levels in their respective constituencies. Along with Narayanaswamy, Nanjegowda and Manjunath have been rendering dedicated service to the party.

The letter to K.C. Venugopal was signed and sent on Thursday by MLAs S.N. Narayanaswamy, G. Manjunath, Nanjegowda, MLCs Naseer Ahmed and Anil Kumar along with former president of Kolar District Congress Committee K. Chandra Reddy and Congress leader V. Adinarayana.
