Kharge Says No Proposal Yet on Karnataka Cabinet Reshuffle

Speaking to reporters in Kalaburagi, Kharge was asked about reports of possible changes in the Cabinet.

Kalaburagi: Amid speculation over possible changes in the Karnataka Cabinet, AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday said no proposal regarding changes in the ministry had come to him.

Speaking to reporters in Kalaburagi, Kharge was asked about reports of possible changes in the Cabinet.

“I am in Kalaburagi. I am not aware of it. If you know anything, please tell me,” he said.

Kharge said any decision to induct or drop a minister would surely come to him.

“Any appointment as minister or removal cannot happen without coming to me. It will not go to others. Once it comes to me, I will call you and tell you,” he told reporters.

Speculation about a possible reshuffle has been growing amid reports of discontent within the Congress and discussions over changes in the ministry. There has also been talk of Minister B Nagendra stepping down amid BJP-JD(S) opposition and plans for a Ballari padayatra.

However, Kharge’s remarks during his visit to Kalaburagi on Thursday suggested that there was no formal proposal before him on any such changes.
