Kharge Condemns Centre’s Denial of US Visit Permission to Revanth Reddy
Kharge said Revanth Reddy, as the Chief Minister, should have been allowed to travel to the US and meet potential investors.

Kalaburagi: AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday condemned the Centre for denying Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy permission to visit the United States, defining it as an ‘injustice.’ Speaking to reporters in Kalaburagi, Kharge said a large number of NRIs from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh live in the US, making such visits particularly important for exploring investment opportunities.
“When I went to Texas as labour minister, I met many people from Andhra Pradesh. They told me that they wanted to invest and sought land and other facilities. Many Chief Ministers visit the US, the UK and other places where there are investment opportunities,” he said.
Kharge said Revanth Reddy, as the Chief Minister, should have been allowed to travel to the US and meet potential investors.
“Those whom the Central government wants to allow are given permission. But here, permission has been denied to the Chief Minister of Telangana. This is injustice. If investments come from there, it will benefit the State as well as the country and generate employment,” he said.
He alleged that the Centre was deliberately preventing the Chief Minister from travelling to the US and attracting investments. “Perhaps they think, ‘Why should he go and bring investment from there? Whoever wants to invest should come to us.’ Such an attitude is wrong, and I condemn it,” Kharge said.
He said investments and industries brought to a State would remain there for decades, irrespective of who occupied the Chief Minister’s post. “A Chief Minister may be there today and may not be there tomorrow, but the investments and industries will remain for decades. The Central government should not have denied permission,” he said.
