Karnataka: Three Arrested For Gang-Rape Of Tribal Woman From West Bengal

BENGALURU: Police arrested 3 persons over alleged rape of a woman after abducting her from T. Narsipur bus stand in Mysuru a couple of days. The abducted woman was forcibly taken in a car to a lodge in Santemarahalli of Chamarajnagar where the trio allegedly raped her. Besides, the trio snatched cash of Rs 5,000 from her and two mobile phones.
The arrested have been identified as Kiran, Kishore and Ryan, all residents of T. Narsipur, about 30-km from Mysuru city. The woman, a native of West Bengal, has been staying at T. Narsipur and works at an eatery. She returned to T. Narsipur from Mysuru city on late Saturday night and the woman was approached by trio persons in a car asking her for directions.
The woman is said to have told the accused persons that she was unaware of Kannada and by then two persons in the car forcibly dragged her to the vehicle. The car fled with the woman and travelled through Muguru to reach a lodge in Santhemarahalli. There the trio, the victim alleged she was raped by the three persons in turns.
Later, the trio snatched her cash of Rs 5,000 and two mobile phones. They demanded more money from the victim to set her free and the victim took advantage of the demand to escape from their custody and told the accused person she has about Rs 1 lakh at her home to hand it over to them.
Reposing faith in her, the accused persons drove her back to T. Narsipur and dropped her near her house. On reaching her house, the victim alerted her landlord about the incident who in turn brought it to the notice of the jurisdictional police. As soon as police arrived at the victim’s house, the trio spotted the police and fled from the spot.
After registering a case on a complaint from the victim, police registered the accused under various sections of BNS, 2023 and arrested the accused.
