Karnataka: Santosh Lad To Tour Dharwad For Three-Day Rain, Drought Assessment

DHARWAD: Labor Minister Santosh S Lad, who was inducted into the DK Shivakumar Cabinet during Monday's expansion, will undertake a three-day visit to Dharwad district from Wednesday to review the heavy rainfall and drought situation.

The government asked ministers to visit districts, assess the prevailing situation arising out of heavy rainfall and drought, and submit reports to the Chief Minister. Santosh Lad has been assigned to Dharwad district as part of this exercise.

On Wednesday, the minister will hold a review meeting with taluk-level officials at the Kalaghatagi Taluk Panchayat Hall to assess the progress of development works and review the heavy rainfall and drought situation. He will later visit villages in the Kalaghatagi Assembly constituency.

In the afternoon, Lad will chair a meeting with district-level officials at the Deputy Commissioner's office in Dharwad to review the prevailing situation and the measures taken by the administration.
On Thursday, he will review the drought situation in the Navalgund and Kundgol Assembly constituencies in separate meetings with taluk-level officials before visiting villages in both constituencies.

On the next day-Friday, the minister will review the heavy rainfall and drought situation in Alnavar taluk with officials and later visit villages to assess the ground situation.
