Karnataka: Minister Eshwar Khandre Assures Support to Family of Robbery Victim

Bidar: Forest, Environment, and Ecology Minister Eshwar B. Khandre, who also serves as the Bidar district in-charge, visited the residence of Giri Venkatesh in Bemalkhed village on Wednesday. Giri Venkatesh, a CMS personnel, tragically lost his life during a robbery in Bidar City last Thursday.

Offering condolences to the grieving family, Minister Khandre assured them of comprehensive government support. He announced a compensation package comprising ₹8 lakh from the Social Welfare Department and an additional ₹10 lakh from the state government.

The minister further promised to consult with the Chief Minister to arrange a pension and provide employment for a family member. He also instructed Social Welfare Department officials to immediately arrange temporary employment for the bereaved family.

In addition, Khandre pledged financial assistance for the medical treatment of Shivakumar, another victim injured in the incident, who is currently undergoing treatment in Hyderabad. He directed the Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department to expedite the release of all promised benefits and relief measures.

The minister’s visit underscored the government’s commitment to supporting families affected by the tragedy.
