Mangaluru: The Puttur Rural Police have issued a notice to RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, directing him to appear for an inquiry in connection with an alleged hate speech case registered against him.
Bhat has been asked to appear before the police on October 30. The notice, served at his residence, pertains to Case No. 118/2025 filed under Sections 79, 196, 299, 302, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The inquiry will be conducted under Section 35(3) of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
The case relates to a speech Bhat delivered during a Deepotsava programme at Uppalige in Dakshina Kannada district on October 20, which was alleged to be provocative, derogatory towards women, and capable of disturbing communal harmony.
