Karnataka: Jeweller’s House Burgled in Tumakuru, Rs 2.25 Cr Stolen

Tumakuru: Gold and silver ornaments and other valuables worth around Rs 2.25 crore were stolen from a jeweler's house here, police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred when jeweller Laksham Ganpat Pawar and his family were away in Sangli, Maharashtra for his son's wedding on August 29 and 30, police said.

The thieves allegedly broke into the house after cutting the grill on the compound wall and the windows. They wore masks to avoid identification, police said.

Stolen valuables included gold biscuits, silver bars, and silver coins, besides other gold and silver ornaments, police said.

A case has been registered and efforts are on to trace the accused, they said.
