Karnataka: IMD Forecasts Heavy Rain, Strong Winds Across Coastal Karnataka
An orange alert has been issued for Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru from 8.30 am on July 28 to 8.30 am on July 29: Reports

MANGALURU: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for parts of Coastal Karnataka and Malnad over the next three days, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds.
An orange alert has been issued for Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru from 8.30 am on July 28 to 8.30 am on July 29.
The alert will continue for Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada from 8.30 am on July 29 to 8.30 am on July 30, and again from 8.30 am on July 30 to 8.30 am on July 31.
According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by sustained winds of 30-40 kmph is likely at one or two places in Udupi and Uttara Kannada on July 28, while heavy rainfall with sustained winds of 30-40 kmph is likely at one or two places in Dakshina Kannada.
On July 29, heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by sustained winds of 30-40 kmph is likely at one or two places in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada.
The forecast for July 30 also indicates heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada.
