Karnataka: Health Minister Condemns Murder of Suhas Shetty
“The murder of Suhas Shetty is extremely horrific and disturbing. I am personally shaken by this incident. Though at first glance it may appear to be a fallout of old rivalry, the real intent seems to be to disturb peace in the coastal region,” Rao said in a statement

Mangaluru: Health Minister and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao on Thursday strongly condemned the murder of Suhas Shetty in Bajpe, terming the act as “gruesome and shocking.”
He assured that the government would take strict action against those involved and warned against any attempts to politicize the incident.
“The murder of Suhas Shetty is extremely horrific and disturbing. I am personally shaken by this incident. Though at first glance it may appear to be a fallout of old rivalry, the real intent seems to be to disturb peace in the coastal region,” Rao said in a statement.
He asserted that the government would not shield any accused involved in the case. “There will be no appeasement or protection of anyone. I have already spoken to senior police officers and instructed them to take strict action against the culprits,” he added.
Taking aim at the BJP, Rao said, “The BJP has already begun politicizing Suhas Shetty’s murder. To those trying to do politics over a dead body—I remind you that maintaining law and order is your responsibility too. Do not spread hate or provoke unrest in Mangaluru. Act responsibly.”
The minister assured that justice would be delivered to the victim’s family. “Our government does not stop at issuing empty statements. We will ensure that the perpetrators are punished as per law. I extend heartfelt sympathies to his family, who are in deep pain following his untimely death,” Rao added.
