Karnataka Govt Seeks Info on Residents Stranded in Nepal, Tibet

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has sought information on people from the state who are currently stranded in Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) following severe flash floods and related disruptions along the border there and adjoining areas.
The Revenue Department's Secretariat of Disaster Management, in a post on 'X', said it was collecting details of those stranded to facilitate coordination of rescue, evacuation and other necessary assistance.
Stranded persons, relatives and tour operators are requested to provide details through the Google Form, it said.
The information will help the state government coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs, the Embassy of India in Nepal and the Embassy of India in Beijing, it said.
People seeking assistance have been asked to contact the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) at 1070 or 080-22253707.
The Google Form has been issued under the signature of Manoj Kumar Meena, IAS, Relief Commissioner/Secretary, Revenue (Disaster Management), Government of Karnataka.
Subsequently, in a release, the government has asked the public to immediately provide details if any tourists or citizens from the state are missing or have become uncontactable.
The state government is in touch with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs and is taking all possible steps on a war footing to provide necessary assistance to affected families and trace those who are missing, it said.
If family members, friends or acquaintances are suspected to be missing in Nepal, the public has been asked to immediately provide the government with the missing person's full name, mobile number, the place and time when they were last contacted, and permanent address details through the Google Form: [docs.google.com/forms]
Information can also be sent by email to seockarnataka@gmail.com, the government release said the Indian Embassy in Nepal has released emergency WhatsApp and telephone numbers to provide aid to Indians stranded in the country.
