Karnataka: Central Leaders Direct CM To Rein In On Ministerial Aspirants From Taking To Pressure Tactics
Some of the supporters of ministerial aspirants such as former minister Zameer Ahmed Khan took to streets demanding that their leader be a minister in Shivakumar cabinet: Reports

BENGALURU: Over reported expansion of the cabinet after June 18, central Congress leaders have asked Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to rein in ministerial aspirants mounting pressure on leaders through their supporters/followers for a berth.
Some of the supporters of ministerial aspirants such as former minister Zameer Ahmed Khan took to streets demanding that their leader be a minister in Shivakumar cabinet. Zameer Ahmed Khan served as Minister of Housing in the previous government headed by Siddaramaiah. Installing banners in favour of their leader to induct into the cabinet, rallying behind leaders to pressure central leaders. Some have taken to the media to express their feelings to make it to the cabinet.
On the day Shivakumar took oath as Chief Minister on June 3, 13 MLAs were sworn-in as cabinet ministers which include Ramalinga Reddy, Priyank Kharge, M.B. Patil, Eshwar Khandre, K.J. George, K.H. Muniyappa, U.T. Khader among others. At the time of induction of cabinet ministers into Shivakumar’s ministry, the cabinet would be expanded after a fortnight that is after June 18.
Now that the deadline set by central leaders came to an end, ministerial aspirants eager to make it to the cabinet/ministry made attempts to pressure the central leaders to induct them into the cabinet. However, nothing substantial has happened to fill-up the vacant posts.
Taking note of the pressure tactics of ministerial aspirants, central leaders asked Shivakumar to silence the aspirants. It is said Central leaders felt that a word of caution from Chief Minister to ministerial aspirants would be a better idea instead of cautioning aspirants through Karnataka party in charge. Central leaders felt that the chances of aspirants returning back with their demands would be minimized to great extent if Chief Minister cautioned them.
