On Wednesday, as usual, the boy went to school, returned home, and at around 6 pm, went out to play with other children near the Bengeri Naga Temple.

Udupi: A 10-year-old boy, reported missing after he failed to return home from play, was traced sleeping beneath a large rock a little distance away from the house at Gujjadi village in Udupi district on Wednesday night.
Giving details on Thursday, police said that the boy, a Class 4 student of Gujjadi Lower Primary School, lives with his uncle in the Bengeri Naga Temple area under the Gangolli police station limits.
On Wednesday, as usual, the boy went to school, returned home, and at around 6 pm, went out to play with other children near the Bengeri Naga Temple. However, when he did not return home even by 7 pm, his uncle approached the police station and reported that the child was missing.
Acting swiftly, Gangolli police launched a search operation with the assistance of local residents. Nearly 200 villagers joined the effort, combing the surrounding areas along with the police team. Despite an initial round of searches yielding no result, the police decided to recheck the same locations.
