Mangaluru: Newly appointed Managing Director and CEO of Karnataka Bank, Raghavendra S Bhat, who took charge on Wednesday, has assured that the bank’s fundamentals remain strong and there is no cause for concern.
Addressing reporters at the bank's head office in Mangaluru, Bhat dismissed various rumours circulating about the bank’s stability and operations.
Refuting speculation about the relocation of the bank’s head office, he said, “There is no proposal to shift the headquarters to Bengaluru. The Head Office will continue to remain in Mangaluru.”
“The bank is safe. There is no question of a merger,” he added.
Responding to questions about whether the board’s decision to bring in professionals from outside the bank’s traditional internal leadership had backfired, Bhat said that change is a continuous process. “Similar decisions have been taken in the past as well,” he noted.
