Karnataka Attracts ₹1.91 Lakh Crore FDI in 2.5 Years: MB Patil

Between 2022–23 and October 2025, Karnataka received 1,886 project proposals expected to create 6,92,545 jobs

Belagavi: Karnataka has attracted ₹1.91 lakh crore in foreign investment over the last two-and-a-half years, Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development Minister M.B. Patil informed the Legislative Council on Wednesday.

Responding to a starred question from MLC Dinesh Gooligowda, Patil said the state received ₹1,91,454 crore in foreign investment during this period—₹54,427 crore in 2023–24, ₹56,030 crore in 2024–25, and ₹80,997 crore between April and September 2025.

He added that following the rollout of the 2025–2030 Industrial Policy, the government has approved 93 new projects with an investment commitment of ₹5,50,805 crore and the potential to generate 8,76,233 jobs.

Between 2022–23 and October 2025, Karnataka received 1,886 project proposals expected to create 6,92,545 jobs. Of these, 67 projects have already been implemented, resulting in 93,925 jobs.

Patil said the new policy aims to promote balanced industrial growth across Karnataka, with a special emphasis on regions outside Bengaluru and industrially backward areas. The state has been divided into three zones to encourage investment, with Zones 1 and 2 covering backward districts and taluks, and Zone 3 comprising Bengaluru Urban and Rural.

Industries availing incentives under the 2025–30 policy must ensure at least 70% local employment and 100% Kannadigas in Group D roles, he said.

From 2018–19 to 2022–23, Karnataka approved 1,878 projects with a potential investment of ₹4,56,842 crore and 8,00,482 jobs. Of these, 260 projects have been implemented, bringing ₹98,662.7 crore in actual investment and generating 1,97,208 jobs, Patil added.
