The family was travelling in a car from Sagara Taluk in Shivamogga district to Bagalkot when it collided head-on with a truck on National Highway 52, resulting in the instant death of all five occupants.

Hubballi: Five members of a family were killed in a road accident at Ingalahalli Cross under the Hubballi Rural Police Station limits on Tuesday morning.
The family was travelling in a car from Sagara Taluk in Shivamogga district to Bagalkot when it collided head-on with a truck on National Highway 52, resulting in the instant death of all five occupants.
The deceased have been identified as Vittal (55), Shashikala (40), Shwetha (29), Anjali (26), and Sandeep (26). A police team led by the Dharwad district Superintendent of Police and the Rural Police Inspector visited the spot. The bodies were later shifted to KMC-RI.
According to police, the victims hailed from Sagara taluk in Shivamogga district and operated a hotel in Bagalkot.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
