BALLARI: A day after a post-marriage feast was held at his home, a 21-year-old man was found murdered with multiple stab injuries in the Nallacheruvu Bhatti area of Cowl Bazaar in Ballari on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Nabirasool (21). Police have registered a murder case and launched an investigation.
According to a complaint lodged by his elder brother, Nabirasool had been in love with a young woman from his neighbourhood for the past few years. She got married to another man from Sandur in January this year but got a divorce on June 4.
Both Nabirasool and the girl left their homes about two weeks ago and returned to Ballari on July 12, informing their families that they had married at a mosque.
A traditional post-marriage feast was held at Nabirasool's house on Thursday afternoon.
Later that night, at around 9.30 pm, Nabirasool left home saying he would return shortly. The next morning, a local resident alerted the family that Nabirasool's body was lying near a water pond along a mud road between Hasenia Mosque and Mohammadiya Colony in the Nallacheruvu Bhatti area.
Family members rushed to the spot and found Nabirasool dead with multiple stab wounds on his chest, neck and back, allegedly inflicted with a sharp-edged weapon.
Police have registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are investigating the murder.
