Indian Envoys Explore Global Tech, Investment Partnerships in Karnataka
The meetings covered Karnataka's strengths in technology, innovation, industry and human capital, besides opportunities for deeper engagement with key economic and technology centres across the world
Bengaluru: Indian envoys to the US and Azerbaijan visited Karnataka and held high-level meetings with the governor, chief minister and senior ministers, exploring opportunities to expand economic, technological, investment and institutional partnerships, the Consulate General of India in Los Angeles said.
Consul General of India in Los Angeles Ambassador K J Srinivasa and Ambassador of India to Azerbaijan Abhay Kumar undertook a series of engagements as part of a diplomatic visit aimed at strengthening Karnataka's international outreach and exploring global partnerships in technology, investment and innovation.
"The discussions focused on enhancing Karnataka's global footprint, facilitating investment and technology partnerships, promoting its innovation and start-up ecosystem, and strengthening linkages with international centres of technology, industry and enterprise," a release from the Consulate General of India in Los Angeles said.
The two Ambassadors called on Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and also met Ministers Priyank Kharge, M B Patil, K J George and Byrathi Suresh.
The meetings covered Karnataka's strengths in technology, innovation, industry and human capital, besides opportunities for deeper engagement with key economic and technology centres across the world.
At Sarvam AI in Bengaluru, the Ambassadors received an overview of India's rapidly evolving artificial intelligence ecosystem, including advances in indigenous foundational models and multilingual AI.
The interaction explored possibilities for fostering international technology partnerships and strengthening connections between India's innovation ecosystem and leading technology hubs abroad.
The envoys also visited the Karnataka Aerospace Park and Centum Electronics, gaining insights into the state's capabilities in aerospace, defence electronics, advanced manufacturing and high-technology innovation.
The visit highlighted Karnataka's capabilities across artificial intelligence, frontier technologies, aerospace and defence, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, tourism, start-ups and entrepreneurship, and the potential for these sectors to form important pillars of the state's expanding international economic engagement, the release said.
According to the statement, the visit also provided an opportunity to identify areas for stronger linkages between Karnataka and the innovation ecosystem of the US West Coast, particularly Southern California, in AI and emerging technologies, aerospace, higher education, start-ups, clean energy, investment and innovation.
The Consulate said it would continue to facilitate institutional and business linkages between India and stakeholders across its consular jurisdiction and support efforts to promote trade, investment, technology, education and people-to-people partnerships.
