HDK Must Have Some Mental Problem For Making Repeated Allegations: DK Shivakumar
Shivakumar was responding to the questions about Kumaraswamy’s claim that the Deputy CM himself had leaked information related to the Ranya Rao gold smuggling case

Vijayapura: Escalating the political feud, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Friday hit back at Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, saying “he must have some mental problem” for making repeated allegations.
Addressing the media in Kolhar of Vijayapura district, Shivakumar was responding to the questions about Kumaraswamy’s claim that the Deputy CM himself had leaked information related to the Ranya Rao gold smuggling case.
"Kumaraswamy is making such baseless allegations — he must be suffering from some mental issue," Shivakumar said, adding, “Lie has another name — Kumaraswamy.”
On Kumaraswamy's sarcastic remarks about the decision to rename the Ramanagara district, Shivakumar questioned why the JD(S) leader, a native of Hassan, was so concerned about Ramanagara. "Why didn’t he do politics in his hometown? Before questioning us, he should think about changing his own name — it carries both his village and his father's name," Shivakumar snapped.
"We belong to the Bengaluru district. Every place name has its own history. Why was Madras renamed as Chennai? Gulbarga was renamed Kalaburagi. We too have our own aspirations. What problem do they have with that?" he questioned.
“The parliamentary constituency was earlier called Kanakapura. Why was it later changed to Bangalore Rural? We are not changing the name of Ramanagara town. Ramanagara will continue to be the district headquarters. We are only changing the name of the district," he clarified.
When questioned about allegations that the renaming move is aimed at boosting land value, Shivakumar responded candidly:
"Yes, we want our people to benefit. Let every farmer see their land value rise. Let youth get jobs and investors come from across the country. It is about progress."
Responding to questions about his and MP D.K. Suresh’s names, along with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s, being linked to the National Herald case, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar clarified that the publication is run by the Congress party and that they had donated Rs 25 lakh to support it.
He added that their family trust had also contributed. Dismissing any concerns over the donation, he said, “We have given the money openly from our hard-earned income. There is nothing illegal about it.”
