Gangsters From Uttar Pradesh Among Four Arrested By Bengaluru Police Over Abduction Threat To A Trader

BENGALURU: Bengaluru city police arrested a person on charge of threatening a plywood trader to abduct his son and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore from him, besides, three gangsters hired by him to execute the crime have also been arrested from Meerut of Uttar Pradesh.
The plywood trader is residing at an apartment in Nehru Nagar under Sheshadripuram police station limits. After the arrests, the trader has been provided police security.
On July 8, the plywood trader, whose identity was not disclosed by the police, received a call from an unknown person over his mobile phone and threatened to kidnap his son and demanded Rs 1 crore from the businessman. A police complaint was registered at Sheshadripuram police station who started the investigation under the guidance of Bengaluru Commissioner of Police Sheemanth Kumar Singh.

The accused reportedly admitted to the abduction threat issued to the plywood trader and revealed to the police, he threatened the trader over alleged cheating by the plywood trader along with 3 others in a deal over a site and car accessories.
The accused told the police he had hired three gangsters from Uttar Pradesh to include them in the plan of abduction. Based on the tip-off, a team secured 3 persons from Meerut of Uttar Pradesh, having criminal background and the Commissioner of Police told reporters the hired gangsters were hired to execute the crime in Bengaluru city.
The gangsters from Uttar Pradesh have been ferried to Bengaluru city on a ‘transit warrant,’ he said and stated the gangsters have been in 10-day police custody. “We have come to know the weapons were with them and we are going to seize them along with other equipment,” he said.
