Gang Involved In Luring Public Into Prostitution Arrested By Police In Bengaluru
A customer was a victim to the gang on July 16. He in his complaint to K.G. Halli police on July 17 stated he reached a location at 1st phase of HBR layout falling under K.G. Halli police station limits after establishing contact with the gang members through an online advertisement.

BENGALURU: A gang alleged to have been involved in luring customers by offering them sexual services and subsequently robbing them have been arrested by K.G. Halli police of Bengaluru city and they recovered from them 2 autorickshaws, 4 two-wheelers, 13 mobile phones and cash used in the commission of the offence. Police arrested 11 persons in charge of luring customers through online advertisements published on the Locanto app under the title “Independent Girls in Personals Bangalore.”
A customer was a victim to the gang on July 16. He in his complaint to K.G. Halli police on July 17 stated he reached a location at 1st phase of HBR layout falling under K.G. Halli police station limits after establishing contact with the gang members through an online advertisement. On reaching the location, the victim said, the gang showed him two women in an autorickshaw to get sexual services and the payment was negotiated. Later, the gang forcibly snatched the victim's cash and mobile phone before fleeing from the spot.
The victim lodged a complaint with CCB Women Protection Squad officers and a case was registered at K.G. Halli police station. Police made the arrests at various locations in HBR Layout and the arrested persons reportedly confessed that they had brought women from other States to Bengaluru and arranged accommodation for them at various locations. The photos of the women were uploaded on the Locanto app and prospective customers contacted them. The gang told the police they lured customers by offering sexual services and robbed them.
Investigations are on. Meanwhile police asked the public not to respond to advertisements on social media platforms or online classifieds websites offering prostitution or any other illegal services. If anyone comes across such illegal activities, they are requested to immediately inform the nearest police station or Police Emergency Helpline for action.
