Five, including 3 children, killed as KSRTC bus collides with motorbike

Yadgir: Five people, including three children, were killed in a road accident near Tinthani Kamaan of Shorapur Police station limits on Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred around 4 pm on NH 150A near Tinthani Kamaan, about 70 km from the district headquarters. A head-on collision between a motorbike and a KSRTC bus resulted in the fatalities.

According to the police, the victims have been identified as Anjaneya (35), his wife Gangamma (28), their son Hanumanth (1.5 years), Gangamma’s niece Pavitra (5), and nephew Rayappa (3).

Anjaneya hailed from Gudagunti in Lingsugur, and the family was traveling from Halisagar in Shahapur Taluk to Gudagunti when tragedy struck.

A case has been registered at Shorapur police station under BNS Section 106 (causing death by negligence) and Section 281 (rash or negligent driving on public roads).
