Extend Kogilu-style Rehabilitation to Entire State, Demands Sriramulu
Speaking to the media in Ballari, Sriramulu claimed that the Chief Minister had hurriedly announced rehabilitation for Kogilu victims to appease minority interests and with an eye on the Kerala elections.

Ballari: Former minister B Sriramulu on Tuesday demanded that the state government extend rehabilitation benefits uniformly across Karnataka, saying that if those displaced in Bengaluru’s Kogilu Layout are being rehabilitated, similar relief must be provided to people in other parts of the state who lost their homes under comparable circumstances.
Speaking to the media in Ballari, Sriramulu claimed that the Chief Minister had hurriedly announced rehabilitation for Kogilu victims to appease minority interests and with an eye on the Kerala elections.
He alleged that AICC general secretary KC Venugopal was interfering in the functioning of the Karnataka government.
He questioned the government’s handling of the issue and demanded clarity on why the houses were demolished and why a decision on rehabilitation was being taken now. He stressed that the background of beneficiaries should be verified before allotting houses to the affected families.
Sriramulu said statements by AICC general secretary KC Venugopal and tweets by political leaders from Kerala had influenced the state government.
