EX-PM’s Wife Dies At 85 In Bengaluru
The bereaved family members rushed to the hospital including H.D. Devegowda, Union Minister of Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy, MLA H.D. Revanna among others.

BENGALURU: Chennamma (85) wife of former Prime Minister H.D. Devegowda died at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Saturday following a cardiac arrest at around 4 pm. He was admitted to hospital over breathing complications. An official statement from the hospital stated “We regret to inform you that Chennamma suffered a sudden massive cardiac arrest despite being on the path to recovery.”
The bereaved family members rushed to the hospital including H.D. Devegowda, Union Minister of Heavy Industries H.D. Kumaraswamy, MLA H.D. Revanna among others. Arrangements will be made for the people to pay their last respects to Chennamma at the residence in Padmanabhanagar of Bengaluru on Sunday before the mortal remains will be ferried to Hassan, her native district, for final rites on Monday.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, previous Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, former Chief Ministers-Basavaraj Bommai and B.S. Yediyurappa condoled the death of Chennamma.
