Bengaluru: The Election Commission of India has issued a clarification over media reports saying it has served a notice over ‘Self-Name Mismatch’ for the electoral roll of eminent scientist and Bharat Ratna Awardee, Professor C.N.R. Rao.
According to reports, during the Karnataka SIR, C.N.R Rao was issued a notice, saying the mismatch stemmed from his name in the 2002 voter roll being “Prof. C.N.R Rao” while the current voter roll has his name, but with an extra ‘f’, with it being “Proff. C.N.R Rao.”
According to the clarification statement by the Election Commission, in the 2002 voter rolls, his name appears as “Rama S/O H.Nagesh” while the current roll has his name appearing as “Proff. C.N.R. Rao S/O Nagesh Rav. H.”
