DCRB PSI Found Dead At Kalaburagi Residence, UDR Registered
The deceased has been identified as Basavaraj Herur. Police officials told Deccan Chronicle that the incident is believed to have occurred between 11 pm and 12.30 am.
Kalaburagi: A Police Sub-Inspector attached to the District Crime Records Bureau (DCRB) was found dead after allegedly ending his life at his residence in Ganganagar locality of Kalaburagi city in the early hours of Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Basavaraj Herur. Police officials told Deccan Chronicle that the incident is believed to have occurred between 11 pm and 12.30 am.
Preliminary reports suggest that Basavaraj had been under mental distress owing to longstanding family issues and certain health-related problems. Before taking the extreme step, he reportedly sent text messages to some of his colleagues, raising alarm.
His colleagues immediately alerted his parents who were in the house, following which they rushed to his room. They forced open the door and found Basavaraj hanging, sources said.
He was immediately shifted to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Based on a complaint lodged by his father, police have registered an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) and initiated further investigation.
Basavaraj is survived by his wife, a schoolteacher, and their three children.
