Court Approves Accused To Turn Approver In A Murder Case Involving Actor Darshan

A Bengaluru court has approved co-accused Pradosh Rao’s application to turn approver in the Renukaswamy murder case involving actor Darshan. The court warned Rao that he must disclose all facts and could lose his pardon if he suppresses the truth.

The 59th City Civil and Sessions Court, Bengaluru on Tuesday accepted the application of Pradosh Rao, one of the co-accused in the alleged murder of Renukaswamy along with actor Darshan, to turn approver in the case for which the trail has been going on. Earlier, Darshan moved the High Court against Pradosh Rao’s application to turn approver and the High Court dismissed the petition of Darshan.

The application came up for hearing in the Court and the Court allowed the application filed by Pradosh and approved him as an approver in the alleged murder of Renukaswamy, a resident of Chitradurga was is alleged to have been murdered by Darshan and his associates in June, 2024 leading to the arrest of the actor. The murder of Renukaswamy is said to be over the victim sending lewd messages to actor’s girlfriend Pavithra Gowda. Darshan and Pavithra Gowda are lodged in Central Prison, Bengaluru.

While accepting his application to turn approver, the Court warned Pradosh Rao that he must disclose all facts he knew with regard to the murder and cautioned him not to suppress the truth. The Court warned Pradosh his pardon witness status will be stripped if found to suppress truth and will be made an accused again.

Earlier, Pradosh Rao application to turn approver alleged actor Darshan and others assaulted Renukaswamy at a shed in Pattanagere in Bengaluru, beating him with sticks and a nylon-rope, kicking him and pressing his chest. The application by Pradosh alleged Renukasamy was stripped completely and kicked repeatedly by Darshan in the victim's private area.

Darshan came across a dead Renukaswamy and the actor was shell-shocked over the death. Darshan sought the help of Pradosh to dispose of the body and the body of Renukaswamy was dumped on the roadside under Kamakshipalya police station of Bengaluru city.
