CID Investigation Will Be Considered if Situation Demands,” Home Minister on Ballari Clash
Home Minister assured to discuss with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah whether to hand over the Ballari clash in which a Congress worker identified Rajshekar succumbed to a bullet injury

BENGALURU: Handing over the clash between supporters of former minister and MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy and Congress MLA Nara Bharath Reddy in Bellary city, a couple of days back, to be investigated by sleuths of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) would be considered if the situation demands, said Minister of Home Dr G. Parameshwar.
The clash between Gali Janardhan Reddy and Nara Bharath Reddy occurred when supporters of Bharath Reddy were engaged in putting banners of a programme to unveil a statue of Valmiki Maharshi. Putting banners of the event was objected to by security personnel of Gali Janardhan Reddy near the residence on Siruguppa road of Ballari city.
Gali Janardhan Reddy is a resident of Ballari city and he represents Gangavathi Assembly seat in Koppal district. Nara Bharath Reddy represents Ballari Assembly seat.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru on Sunday, Home Minister assured to discuss with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah whether to hand over the Ballari clash in which a Congress worker identified Rajshekar succumbed to a bullet injury.
Regarding the progress of investigation into the death of Rajshekar, Parameshwar said “It is certain the bullet which claimed the life of a person does not belong to the police department revolver or gun. The matter has been confirmed by the ADGP.”
Meanwhile, he said, ballistic experts have been sought to ascertain the firearm/gun from which the bullet was fired during the clash which led to the death of Rajshekar. The bullet recovered from the spot has been subjected for Forensic Science Lab tests.
“Suitable action will be initiated against private security guards hired by individuals after investigation,” he said and it is alleged security personnel hired by Satish Reddy, a close associate of Nara Bharth Reddy fired during the clash which claimed the life of Rajshekar.
