Central Power Research Institute JD Arrested By CBI Over Bribery In Bengaluru

The CBI sleuths registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Thursday against the accused Joint Director and an executive of a private company on the allegation that they indulged in corrupt activities of obtaining bribe amount for issuing favourable test reports in respect of the electrical equipment produced by Sudhir Group of Companies

BENGALURU: A Joint Director of Central Power Research Institute, Bengaluru was on Friday arrested by sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) by laying trap in Bengaluru when the accused along with an executive of a private company- Sudhir Group of Companies, were transacting a bribe amount of Rs 9.5 lakh. The executive of the private company has also been apprehended by the CBI in the trap they laid.

The CBI sleuths registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Thursday against the accused Joint Director and an executive of a private company on the allegation that they indulged in corrupt activities of obtaining bribe amount for issuing favourable test reports in respect of the electrical equipment produced by Sudhir Group of Companies.

After FIR registration, the CBI sleuths laid a trap and were successful in trapping the Joint Director along with an executive of the private company.

Furthermore, the CBI sleuths conducted searches at the residence of Joint Director of Central Power Research Institute and recovered cash of Rs 3.59 crore. Besides foreign currency including US dollars, Hongkong dollar, Singapore dollar, Indonesian Rupiah, Malaysian Ringgit, Euro, Yian (Renmin), Swedish Krona and UAE Dirham worth about Rs 405858 were also recovered.

Searches continue at the residence of Joint Director by CBIO sleuths, Investigation in the case is in progress.
