CCB Arrests Man For Alleged Heroin Peddling in Belagavi

The accused was caught while allegedly selling heroin near the open-air auditorium close to the Tilakwadi Vaccine Depot

Belagavi: The CCB police have arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly selling heroin in Belagavi city and seized narcotic substances from him.
The accused has been identified as Javed Ilyas Bendigeri, a resident of Babalegalli in Angol area. He was caught while allegedly selling heroin near the open-air auditorium close to the Tilakwadi Vaccine Depot.
Based on a tip-off, a CCB team led by PSI Manjunath G Bhajantri conducted a raid at the spot and recovered 10.10 grams of heroin, packed in small sachets, valued at Rs 21,800. The police also seized a mobile phone and Rs 170 cash.
Police said the heroin was allegedly procured from a woman identified as Lakhadi Adda Akka of Mumbai. A case has been registered at the Tilakwadi police station under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act against both the accused and the alleged supplier, and further investigation is underway.
City Police Commissioner Bhushan Gulabrao Borase has appreciated the CCB team for the successful operation.
