Broker Arrested, Two Constables Suspended Over Verification Irregularities
Investigation so far revealed that those labourers were poor people looking for work
Mangaluru: A broker has been arrested and two police constables placed under suspension over alleged irregularities in the issuance of police verification certificates for labourers seeking employment in Bajpe.
“It is found that a broker has got police verification done for some labourers looking for work through constables without actual field verification or signature of the inspector,” City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said.
A case was registered. The broker was arrested, and the constables were placed under suspension.
“Investigation so far revealed that those labourers were poor people looking for work, and the broker played mischief with the cooperation of the suspended constables. Further investigation will reveal more details,” he added.
