BJP Leaders Take Up Murders For Political Reasons, Alleges Karnataka CM

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar urged the BJP leaders “Don’t use Suhas Shetty murder for political gains”

Bengaluru: Referring to a murder of a person in Mangaluru, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday stated the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) take-up murder issues for political reasons and stated he came know through police officers the victim Suhas Shetty in Mangaluru murder case was a rowdy-sheeter.

He told reporters in Srirangapatna of Mandya district that he has given instructions to ADGP (Law and Order) to make a spot inspection and conduct a detailed probe into the murder. Officials concerned have been directed to trace the assailants in the murder case and initiate action against them as per law.
In reply to BJP leaders visiting the house of deceased Suhas Shetty, Siddaramaiah questioned “Why didn’t Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit the families of Pahalgam terror attack which claimed 26 lives? and asked “Doesn’t Prime Minister feel it is important to console the bereaved families of terror attack?”
Continuing on the Pahalgam terror attack, the Chief Minister said he gathered information about the Pahalgam terror attack and stated “There were no police personnel or security personnel at Baisaran Valley where the terror attack took place? He questioned “Is it not a security lapse?” and stated “What does it mean where a tourist place of congregation has no security at all?”
Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar said steps will be initiated to reestablish peace in Mangaluru region and stated peaceful atmosphere prevailed in Mangaluru until mob lynching incident which killed a person followed by murder of Suhas Shetty.
Adding, he said, four teams have been formed to trace the assailants involved in the murder of Suhas Shetty.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar urged the BJP leaders “Don’t use Suhas Shetty murder for political gains” and sought the cooperation of BJP leaders in maintaining peace in the State.
However, Leader of Opposition in Assembly R. Ashoka stated during Siddaramaiah’s first term as Chief Minister (2013-18) as many as 36 Hindu activists were murdered and pointed fingers at Popular Front of India (PFI) and like-minded organisations were allegedly involved in the killings. He said he will caution the State Government over deterioration of law and order in the State.
