Bjp Demands Minister B. Nagendra Be Sacked, Govt Allots Him Additional Charge
B. Nagendra resigned after alleged financial irregularities was exposed in Valmiki Corporation and he was arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in 2024. He is currently on bail.
BENGALURU: While opposition parties-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal Secular (JDS) join hands to press for the resignation of re-inducted Minister B. Nagendra over his alleged involvement in financial irregularities in Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation, the State Government created Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Authority under B. Nagendra. He is also the Minister of Planning and Statistics holding Ballari district incharge.
The Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Ministry under B. Nagendra, MLA representing Ballari Rural Assembly seat in Ballari district, has been created following an assurance made last September by the State Government. The Ministry is created to focus on the overall development of Kalyana Karnataka districts comprising Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Vijayanagara and Ballari.

The Ministry under B. Nagendra will function from its office at Multi-Storey Building room 757-758, 7th floor, 2nd gate in Bengaluru Urban district. The Ministry will have a Principal Secretary post of 1, Deputy/Joint Secretary post of 1 and 14 others in various capacities. Among the posts created, two belong to outsourcing group ‘D’ category.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Assembly R. Ashoka stated “To take the fight against B. Nagendra demanding his resignation to its logical end.”
Ashoka stated “I have provided relevant documents showing that a scam of Rs 187 crore has occurred in Valmiki Corporation. Valmiki Development Corporation Officer P. Chandrashekaran had written in a suicide note that he transferred the money on the directions of the Minister who was then heading Tribal Affairs along with Youth Empowerment and Sports.”
“The ongoing Assembly session has been ruined for the sake of one Minister and prevented discussions on drought among other major issues,” said the Leader of Opposition.
