Bengaluru: Kumaraswamy For A Fresh Sir In Karnataka Under A Officer From Outside The State
The Union Minister demanded SIR conducted so far in Karnataka should be scrapped and to order for a fresh under the supervision of an officer from outside Karnataka: Reports

BENGALURU: “As was done in West Bengal, an officer from outside Karnataka must be appointed to oversee the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls exercised in Karnataka,” Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) , accusing the ruling Congress party in Karnataka of desperately trying to protect illegal voters.
The Union Minister demanded SIR conducted so far in Karnataka should be scrapped and to order for a fresh under the supervision of an officer from outside Karnataka.
The Deputy Commissioners in several districts were themselves complicit in the misuse of SIR exercise and stringent action must be initiated against Deputy Commissioners if found guilty of wrongdoing, he said and stated “Many of them are functioning according to whims of the State Government rather than discharging their Constitutional and administrative responsibilities.”
Kumaraswamy stated a delegation of Janata Dal Secular and Bharatiya Janata Party would meet Election Commission of India and submit a complaint supported by documentary evidence over the conduct of SIR in Karnataka wherein the State Government of going to the extent possible to allegedly retain illegitimate voters.
