Bengaluru Food Delivery Executive Held for Secretly Filming Women

Accused shot videos without consent on MG Road, Brigade Road and Church Street; posted them online to boost follower count

In a case raising serious concerns about digital privacy and public harassment, the Ashoknagar police have arrested a 19-year-old food delivery executive for allegedly filming women in public places without their consent and uploading the videos with background music to his Instagram account.

The accused has been identified as Dilavar Hussain MD, a native of Manipur currently employed as a food delivery boy in Bengaluru. He was apprehended after the police’s social media monitoring cell flagged an Instagram account named “Dilbar Jaani-67”. The account featured over a dozen videos described as “indecent and provocative,” primarily focusing on women filmed from behind as they walked on city streets.

According to officials, Hussain had been filming these videos for about three months in busy public areas such as MG Road, Brigade Road, Church Street, Koramangala, and Indiranagar. He then uploaded the clips under the title “Bangalore Night Life”, adding popular Bengali, Hindi, and regional music tracks in the background to increase reach and engagement on the platform.

“The videos were shot without the women’s knowledge or consent and were intended to gain more followers,” a police spokesperson said. “We initiated a suo-motu case and arrested him after confirming the source of the content.”

Hussain reportedly admitted to filming the women for the sole purpose of going viral on Instagram. The police are now verifying whether the videos were shared on other platforms and have urged citizens to report such instances of online harassment.

The case highlights growing misuse of social media for voyeuristic content and the need for stricter surveillance of digital platforms.
