Bengaluru Customs to Auction Unclaimed Electronic gadgets

Huge Cache of iPhones, Smartwatches Seized by Customs Up For Auction

Bengaluru Customs (Airport) is set to conclude the year with a high-value e-auction on December 30, featuring 227 seized and confiscated electronic devices. This single-lot sale, which will be conducted through the MSTC Ltd. (Metal Scrap Trade Corporation Limited) E-Auctions portal, is exclusively for registered bulk traders and refurbishers, not individual buyers.

The lot comprises premium gadgets, including 175 Apple iPhones, 21 Apple Watches, 4 iPads, 26 Android smartphones, and one 65-inch television. These items are currently stored at the Kempegowda International Airport godown.
Potential bidders have the opportunity to inspect the quantity and condition of the inventory on December 29, the day before the auction. The e-auction is scheduled to take place from 12:00 to 4:30 p.m. on December 30.
The items were seized under 22 separate detention memos and will be sold strictly on an ‘as-is-where-is’ basis. The onus of evaluating the quality and assessing the condition lies entirely with the bidders. No complaints or queries regarding defects, shortages, or dysfunctionality will be entertained after the bidding process is complete.
Aspiring buyers must register on the MSTC E-auction portal to participate.
