Bengaluru: CM Vows Action Over Wing Commander's Assault on Delivery Driver

The Chief Minister, in a statement here, said his government has taken-up the case with utmost seriousness.

Bengaluru: Taking a serious note over assault on food delivery boy by Wing Commander in Bengaluru on Monday early morning and later levelling baseless allegations against Kannadigas by the Wing Commander, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday stated he has given instructions to Bengaluru Commissioner of Police B. Dayanand to initiate legal action against the erring (Wing Commander identified as Shiladitya Bose) irrespective of position or rank held by the person.

The Chief Minister, in a statement here, said his government has taken-up the case with utmost seriousness and the State Government is committed to ensure justice for the victim (food delivery boy identified as Vikas Kumar).
On Monday, Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose assaulted food delivery person Vikas Kumar near a shopping mall in C.V. Raman Nagar of Bengaluru city and the Wing Commander was “unstoppable” in his attack on Vikas Kumar after an altercation broke out between him and the food delivery boy over a minor collision between a car belonging to the Wing Commander and a two-wheeler of the food delivery person. The incident is said to have taken place at around 6. 30 am in C.V. Raman Nagar.
Bose alleged initially Vikas Kumar started the argument and hurled abuses at his wife Madhumitha and him before he punched him in his face and in a video posted him on a social networking site charged at the people of Karnataka especially in Bengaluru city.
The statement from the Chief Minister condemned the conduct of the Wing Commander over his unwarranted and derogatory remarks about Karnataka and its people and termed the behaviour of the Wing Commander was ‘disrespectful’ and ‘inflammatory.’
“I urge all Kannadigas not to succumb to provocation or emotion. Let us uphold the law and maintain peace,” appealed the Chief Minister and assured, “Karnataka is governed by a government elected by the people of this land and it stands firmly for justice and dignity.”
