BDDS Recovers Bullet Fragments from Janardhan Reddy’s Home; MLA Slams 5-Day Delay

The delayed arrival of the squad prompted Janardhan Reddy to express dissatisfaction over the pace of the investigation.

Ballari: Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) conducted a detailed inspection at the residence of Gangavathi MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy on Monday. It is said that the team recovered some bullet fragments.

The delayed arrival of the squad prompted Janardhan Reddy to express dissatisfaction over the pace of the investigation.

“The bomb disposal squad arrived five days after the incident to search for bullets. This shows the pace at which the investigation is proceeding. The police are working under pressure. Can we even expect an impartial probe under such circumstances?” he questioned.

He further alleged that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, by publicly expressing support for Bharath Reddy, had interfered with the investigation.

In a related political development, former minister B Sriramulu demanded on Monday that the probe into the recent violence in Ballari be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or conducted by a judicial authority. He warned that he would launch a padayatra from Ballari to Bengaluru if his demands were not met.

Addressing the media, Sriramulu said those responsible for the incident must be arrested immediately, alleging that attempts were being made to protect certain individuals. “If justice is not ensured, I will seek party permission and undertake a padayatra to Bengaluru to teach the Congress government a lesson,” he declared.

Sriramulu also pointed out discrepancies in the post-mortem of Congress worker Rajashekhar, who was killed in the firing incident. “The bullet was not found in the initial post-mortem. It was recovered only after senior officers intervened and a fresh examination was conducted. There was an attempt to implicate BJP MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy without proper evidence,” he claimed.
