Ballari: The district administration on Saturday cleared alleged encroachments from a 1.33-acre government property in the Havambavi area and took possession of the land as part of its ongoing drive against illegal occupation of public assets.
The property, located near a canal off Siruguppa Road and falling under Survey No 275 of Ballari (Rural), was found to have been occupied unlawfully, officials said.
A team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammed N Zubair and Tahsildar Rekha carried out the operation with the assistance of revenue and police personnel. During the drive, officials removed the encroachments and marked the site with a board declaring it government property.
Authorities also demolished commercial and other structures that had allegedly been constructed illegally on the left side of Siruguppa Road in the Havambavi area.
Revenue inspectors, village administrative officers and police personnel were deployed at the site to ensure the operation proceeded without incident.
