Ballari Clash: Police Ask Public to Share Videos to Aid Probe

Ballari: Ballari police have appealed to the public to share any video footage related to the clash that broke out on January 1 in front of MLA Janardhan Reddy's residence on Siruguppa Road.
In a press statement, the Inspector of Brucepet Police Station said that if members of the public have recorded visuals of the incident on their mobile phones or other electronic devices, they may share them to assist further investigation.
According to the police, the incident occurred between 9 pm and 9.20 pm on January 1 on the public road in front of Janardhan Reddy’s house on Siruguppa Road.
A dispute erupted after a banner related to the unveiling of a Maharshi Valmiki statue, erected by supporters of Ballari City MLA Bharath Reddy, was allegedly torn down by supporters of Gangavathi MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy.
Supporters of Janardhan Reddy claimed that the banner had been put up on the road leading to his residence, while Bharath Reddy’s supporters maintained that it was installed on the roadside.
The argument escalated into a clash and firing, during which Congress worker Rajasekhar was killed.
A case has been registered at the Brucepet Police Station invoking Sections 103(1), 54, 352 and 351(2) read with Section 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with Section 27 of the Arms Act, 1959.
The police have requested those who possess relevant video recordings to send them via WhatsApp to the Brucepet Police Station Inspector at 9480803045, or to personally visit the police station and provide information.
Several video clips related to the incident have surfaced on social media, including visuals purportedly showing firing by the private gunman of Sathish Reddy and bottles being transported in an autorickshaw. Police said the footage has been crucial to the investigation.
