Bagalkot CEO Kurera Engages Commuters in Unique Voter Drive

The by-election for the Bagalkot assembly constituency will be held on April 9.

Bagalkot: In an engaging initiative to promote voter awareness, Zilla Panchayat CEO and District SVEEP Nodal Officer Shashidhar Kurera boarded a bus at the Navanagar bus stand and personally interacted with passengers, urging them to exercise their right to vote.

The by-election for the Bagalkot assembly constituency will be held on April 9.

The on-the-spot outreach, carried out under the voter awareness campaign, caught the attention of commuters as Kurera distributed pamphlets and explained the importance of voting, turning an ordinary bus ride into a moment of civic engagement.

The programme was organised jointly by the District SVEEP cell and NWKRTC. Kurera appealed to passengers to participate in the democratic process without fail, emphasising that every vote is valuable and plays a crucial role in shaping governance.

Awareness was also created among the public, including elderly citizens and youth at the bus stand, about the importance of voting and the need to exercise their franchise responsibly.

As part of the programme, Kurera administered a voter awareness pledge. A human chain was later formed and candles were lit to draw further attention to the campaign.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Planning Officer Allamaprabhu, Assistant Planning Officer Bhimappa Talwar, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Subhash Sampagavi, District Transport Officer KK Lamani and others were present.
