AMR Group Chairman Donates Gold Articles Worth Rs 2.5 Crore to Anjanadri Temple
Maha Mangalarati was later performed and the devotees took darshan of the deity

Koppal: AMR Group chairman Dr A Mahesh Reddy donated gold articles worth Rs 2.5 crore to Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple atop Anjanadri Hill, the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, during special religious ceremonies held on Friday.
The donated ornaments included an intricately designed golden prabhavali (decorative arch), golden umbrella, crown and mace dedicated to Lord Anjaneya Swamy.
In the early hours AMR Group owner Dr A Mahesh Reddy and his wife, along with Gangavathi MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy and his wife, visited the temple and offered special prayers at the Hanuman Padaghatta shrine located at the foothill of Anjanadri.
Later, Dr Mahesh Reddy and his wife, along with Janardhan Reddy and his wife, carried the golden crown, mace and other articles and climbed 525 steps leading to the hilltop temple.
At the Hanuman temple atop the hill, they participated in several religious rituals. Later, the gold ornaments were formally handed over to the temple authorities.
Temple priests then adorned the idol of Lord Hanuman with the golden prabhavali, crown, mace and umbrella. Maha Mangalarati was later performed and the devotees took darshan of the deity.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy said both the Central and State governments had released funds for the development of Anjanadri. He said the land acquisition process for the project was already under way.
Referring to the proposed development works at Anjanadri Hill and the temple, he said that once the required documentation confirming that it is not a forest area is completed, development works such as construction of the temple gopuram and ropeway project would be taken up.
Janardhan Reddy also said that Dr Mahesh Reddy had previously donated to several temples, including the Shirdi temple, and had also undertaken renovation works of certain shrines. In the same spirit, he has now made donations to Anjanadri temple as well.
Several officials, political leaders and devotees attended the ceremony, including Gangavathi Tahsildar Vasantha Kumari, Kanakagiri Tahsildar Vishwanath were present.
