Alwin Prakash Kunder’s Remains Brought Home To Kundapur, Last Rites Held
Prakash was a native of Honnakeri in Kundapur. He and his wife had been living and working in Sharjah for around 14 years. The couple has a son.
Udupi: The mortal remains of Alwin Prakash Kunder, who was allegedly murdered in Sharjah, were brought to his hometown of Kundapur on Friday and his last rites were performed.
Prakash’s body was found in Sharjah last month, cut into nine pieces. His family received confirmation of his death after DNA testing matched the remains recovered from his car.
Prakash was a native of Honnakeri in Kundapur. He and his wife had been living and working in Sharjah for around 14 years. The couple has a son.
However after his death the whereabouts of his wife and son are not known.
The remains of Prakash were flown from Sharjah to Mangaluru Airport and brought to Kundapur by road. They reached the family home around 9.30 am, where prayers and other rituals were held. The body was later taken to the CSI cemetery near Shastri Circle, where family members, relatives and friends gathered for the funeral.
MP Kota Srinivas Poojary urged the Union government to ensure a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
Coastal Development Board chairman MA Gafoor said the family had been advised to seek the help of the Advocate General if they faced any legal issues.
Prakash’s brother Anil Prashanth Kunder demanded strict action against those responsible for the death and sought justice for the family. He also thanked those who had supported the family and helped bring the remains back to Kundapur.
