Accused in theft and slaughter of cattle in Honnavar station limits

A case was registered on January 19, invoking provisions of The Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2020, and relevant sections of the BNS

Karwar: Honnavar police have arrested an accused in connection with the theft and slaughter of cattle reported in Salkod and Kondakuli under the Honnavar police station limits in Uttara Kannada district. The accused, identified as Taufiq, was found to have collaborated with others in the crime at the crime scene and assisted in transporting the stolen cattle meat on his motorcycle.

A case was registered on January 19, invoking provisions of The Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2020, and relevant sections of the BNS.

Superintendent of Police Narayan M formed three teams comprising PSIs and staff from Honnavar and surrounding subdivisions.

On January 24, the teams arrested the accused, Taufiq, a resident of Honnavar Taluk and a driver by profession.

The officers and staff involved in the operation were commended for their swift action by SP Narayan M and Additional SP M Jagadish.
