91-Year-Old Karnataka Woman Dies After Monkey Attacks Her Outside Home
The CCTV footage also captured the monkey approaching the other elderly woman before people from the surrounding area reached the spot
A 91-year-old woman died after she was attacked by a monkey outside her home in B.T. Patil Nagar in Karnataka’s Koppal district on September 19.
The woman, identified as Najamunnisa Begum, was standing near the entrance to the courtyard of her house when she reportedly heard a noise and walked towards the side of the building.
CCTV footage of the incident shows Najamunnisa looking around the corner before turning back after the monkey appeared. The animal then jumped towards her and struck her with its feet, causing her to fall backwards.
Najamunnisa hit her head on the ground in the fall and suffered serious injuries. The monkey fled across the courtyard following the attack.
Her daughter came out of the house after hearing the commotion and found Najamunnisa lying on the ground. The monkey then moved towards her daughter as well, apparently attempting to attack her, before jumping onto a garden wall.
According to reports, the injured woman was taken to a private hospital for treatment. She initially recovered after sustaining the head injury, but her condition later deteriorated.
Najamunnisa died at the hospital the following day.
