5 New City Corporations Under GBA, Says Dy CM
A Committee has been constituted under Rizwan Arshad, representing Shivaji Nagar Assembly seat in Bengaluru city, to form new City Corporations, he said and asserted “5 new City Corporations will come into existence at all costs.”
BENGALURU: Bengaluru incharge and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Tuesday said under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), as many as 5 new City Corporations will be constituted and elections will be conducted soon.
A Committee has been constituted under Rizwan Arshad, representing Shivaji Nagar Assembly seat in Bengaluru city, to form new City Corporations, he said and asserted “5 new City Corporations will come into existence at all costs.”
Speaking at a meeting of party workers in Bengaluru, Shivakumar said over the decision to form new 5 City Corporations, some would oppose but the step is necessary to create 5 new City Corporations from an administrative point of view. However, he said, “It has been decided that (Congress) party workers will be given suitable positions in new City Corporations.”
He termed the party workers as ''strong pillars" and stated “We take decisions in Vidhana Soudha but party workers take those decisions to the people and are Government Ambassadors.”
