36-Year-Old Man Found Murdered Near Kuntalpady, Udupi

Udupi: A 36-year-old man was found murdered on Tuesday morning near Kuntalpady under Karkala Town Police Station limits of Udupi district.
The deceased has been identified as Naveen Poojary, a native of Mangaluru.
Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar said that preliminary investigation revealed Naveen died of stab injuries. Based on CCTV footage, technical evidence and an eyewitness account, police identified the accused as Parikshit Sanjeev Gowda, a bus driver.
Parikshit, who had been living in a rented house, has been taken into custody. Police said he is a divorcee.
Investigation so far has revealed that the motive behind the crime was personal rivalry. Parikshit suspected Naveen’s closeness with a woman known to him, which led to argument. On Tuesday morning, this culminated in the fatal stabbing.
Though Naveen’s family members reside in Mangaluru, police sources said he had maintained a distance from them. Further investigation is underway.
