3 Arrested Over Assault on Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway

BENGALURU: Mandya police arrested 3 persons on Tuesday over a road rage incident on Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway near Maddur town in which a couple of persons dragged a driver of a car and assaulted them over a minor collision between the two cars.

Police identified the assailants as Santosh, Arun and Abhishek and search is on to nab another involved in the alleged attack.

The assault incident took place on Sunday evening while a video circulated on Tuesday showed a couple of persons intercepted a car on the busy Expressway and assaulted him before he was dragged out of the seat to launch another round of attack. The assault is said to have occurred over two cars involved in a minor collision near Srirangapatna and enraged over, persons on board another car chased him down on the Expressway and intercepted to attack him in presence of his wife and children.

The assault incident was caught on dash camera by a car behind the car driven by the victim. Initially, both the parties agreed to compromise and continue their journey. But, the car driven assailants came across that their vehicle was damaged more than they calculated and chased the car which was involved in the collision.

The victim, his identity was not established immediately and he lodged a complaint with police over assault on him.
